By Brittany @ Wednesday, August 27, 2008 12:21 PM
I'm confused. Does it start Thursday the 28th, Monday the 25th, or Sunday the 24th? On MMR's home page it says Thursday August 25th and on the blog it says Sunday the 24th???

By Rhys @ Wednesday, August 27, 2008 12:28 PM
To answer the question above, the website is right with the A-Z starting THIS Thursday, the 28th - the Blog was created on Sunday, the 24th..Capice?

By Al @ Wednesday, August 27, 2008 12:59 PM
This is great because we won't have to hear the same old Ozzie, AC DC and other head banger songs over and over (for at least 10 days). Always nice hearing songs that don't get enough play time.

By susan @ Wednesday, August 27, 2008 4:15 PM

By Joe Q @ Thursday, August 28, 2008 3:01 PM
Are we going to have the list from A to Z at our disposal like past years, or are we going to get an A to Z list that was updated last year because of the whole Genesis concert tie in? Personally, I think it would be best to have the whole list posted before the weekend hits even though the A to Z starts tonight (Thursday)

ByJoe P @ Thursday, August 28, 2008 3:04 PM
Just the best thing on radio

By gene dillon @ Thursday, August 28, 2008 5:11 PM
By far the best time to listen to MMR is the A to Z !! thats when can can give the songs they play over and over a rest for a few weeks. I do wish they would pause it between 2:00 am to 6:00 during the work week though.

By jim @ Thursday, August 28, 2008 8:47 PM
Why didn't you play "A Day In The Life" by The Beatles?

By Coty @ Friday, August 29, 2008 12:20 AM
I Have 5 Full Notebooks Ready, Writing Every Song I Can Down. Would You Post The List PLEASE? I See Little Sleep In The Next Week...

By Pat @ Friday, August 29, 2008 8:14 AM
Would love to get these on my ipod....but not the most technologically advanced; is there a download option on the site, I'm assuming at a cost?

MMR ROCKS! I listen at home and in the car all the time, and have been since the levittown and philly days. even in florida i listened online.

by theway, what happened to BYOB???

PS: Sean, Another Brick In The Wall was not played yet, because the beginning of it is called "The Happiest Days Of Our Lives" you will hear it when they get to the T's in about a week.

By ray @ Saturday, August 30, 2008 6:45 AM
What happened to YES Changes? Is Yes played anymore?

By PatchDog @ Saturday, August 30, 2008 8:56 AM

There's nothing better on terrestrial radio than WMMR's Labor Day A-Z!!! It's always great to hear the deep cuts and exclusive tracks from the MMaRchive Sessions. I love what you guys are doin keep up the great work. Especially Bam-Bam and Marcus-In-The-Darkus. WMMR ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is why MMR is the stone column that holds up the rock and roll roof of the Philadelphia greater media area

By Jack Whalen @ Sunday, August 31, 2008 10:56 AM
I love when MMR does this. I get to hear songs hardly ever played.

By Nat2D2 @ Sunday, August 31, 2008 8:18 PM
Kudos to the guys & gals of wmmr. The A-Z is such a great time of the year. I always look forward to it! Frank Zappa and The Knack....gotta love it!

By george @ Monday, September 01, 2008 10:53 AM
Not hearing many of the old music like Strawbs "Benedictus" that could only be heard on MMR back in the old days. They even played Miles Davis "Bitches Brew" back then. Guess they can't play everything. Still great not to hear the same songs over and over.

ByBrett Boger @ Monday, September 01, 2008 11:42 AM
I absolutely enjoy all the music played in the A-Z week and a half. This is why WMMR is number one. I really like hearing all the old stuff, especially the songs that don't get played too often anymore. Though I personally think this should be the format all the time, but WMMR ROCKS!!!

By Rich @ Monday, September 01, 2008 4:31 PM
Absolutely awesome, as usual ....I just wish you didn't cut the quitar solo during Humans Being

By joe @ Monday, September 01, 2008 8:57 PM
you should play inagoddadavida every day.

By Greg @ Monday, September 01, 2008 9:40 PM
WOW! I can't believe it. From Inagoddadavida to Interstellar Overdrive. What an incredible collection of tunes. Thanks for changing everything up. I wish I could stay awake for a week to hear everything.

By RichM @ Monday, September 01, 2008 10:34 PM
Great job on the A-Z! I've been listening since Friday morning. You need to do this more than once a year, or at least play the same songs in random order the rest of the year. MMR is my only refuge for hearing the Beatles, Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys etc. all in one place.
P.S. Turn up your HD signal...

By Steve @ Tuesday, September 02, 2008 9:51 AM
Much love to WMMR, but how can you justify Fleetwood Mac, CCR, and bands like Lifehouse and DMB while The Darkness, Queens of the Stone Age, and OK Go get ignored? Sure I understand respect for those that came before, but all those bands can barely rock on their hardest days. I'm disappointed.

By Warren @ Tuesday, September 02, 2008 10:09 AM
This A-Z is much more befitting of MMR and it's heritage than the previous one. Keep up the great work!

By frank @ Tuesday, September 02, 2008 10:15 AM
On Fri, Pierre had 3 trivia questions about Trent Reznor; the last one was an early 90's modern rock band with initials DM...who did Pierre mean? I missed the answer.

By dfbhtgfh @ Tuesday, September 02, 2008 11:57 AM
play some sugar ray!

By Coty @ Tuesday, September 02, 2008 2:19 PM
Depeche Mode is all that comes to mind.

By Linda @ Tuesday, September 02, 2008 8:37 PM
always listen to A-Z, want to hear variety ALL the time, can almost count on songs in Rush blocks ...let's experiment w/other great Rush ..heard In-A-Gadda-da-vida last night, thought I'd died and gone to heaven...want that all the time!! Always love MMR!!, that's where we first heard the music that lives forever!!

By Chris Hall @ Tuesday, September 02, 2008 11:04 PM
Damn! I'm new to the area, and your stations rocks! This A to Z thing you got going on, the best thing I ever heard for a concept on radio! Ever!
I'm glad you got a list going so I can see what there, and what I missed. I'm totally copy and pasting it when its through (hopefully not too soon).

Keep up the awesomeness.

By jkm @ Wednesday, September 03, 2008 9:14 AM
why is it that there is only one U.F.O song. Lights Out is a good one but there are better ones out there. this list only changes if Ozzy, Metalica, or if G&R finally released The Chinese Dem album.

ByAnthony @ Wednesday, September 03, 2008 10:18 AM
Hate to see you go-The Color Fred from West Chester

By Kathy Phillips @ Wednesday, September 03, 2008 11:18 AM

By Martin Williams @ Wednesday, September 03, 2008 6:53 PM
Where is the old Genesis??? I know what I like, Lamb lies down on broadway, Musical box and Peter Gabriel's Lay your hands on me. Where iare the songs from Yes? Your station played these songs in the past.

By jim @ Wednesday, September 03, 2008 8:16 PM
the answer was Depeche Mode "Personal Jesus".
Why didn't you play "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison?

By LISA BROWN @ Wednesday, September 03, 2008 8:18 PM
GREAT JOB !!! It was especially good this year. Alot of songs that I haven't heard in years or that you never hear on the radio.

By Chris @ Wednesday, September 03, 2008 8:54 PM
What happened to "Lemon" by U2??? That song is awesome and deserves to be heard!

love the A-Z. helps me get though the day MMR style. MMR ROCKS!!

By Kevin @ Thursday, September 04, 2008 11:02 AM
What happened to White Lion's cover of "Radar Love"? It should have been between Golden Earring's "Radar Love" and REM's "Radio Free Europe". I was sad...oh well, it's on my iPod.

By Tom Swartz @ Thursday, September 04, 2008 2:26 PM
I LOVE THE A-Z
every time a new song comes on, I have a blast trying to guess the name and artist!

ps- itunes now has close to $100 of my money thanks to this awesome music marathon!! :P

By Marc @ Thursday, September 04, 2008 5:48 PM
Some great, great stuff. Never heard Beru Review before but they are awesome!! Love to hear old Kiss on the radio too. But where was the Allman Bros. Band "One Way Out"? The A-Z is very cool. Thanks. - Marc

By Al Barnhart @ Thursday, September 04, 2008 8:26 PM
I would like to know how you could play that purely crappy ramblin man and not play red house? just curious

By Kim Skoczen @ Thursday, September 04, 2008 9:19 PM

By Mark @ Thursday, September 04, 2008 10:49 PM

By Dawn @ Friday, September 05, 2008 12:51 AM
very disappointed, waiting to here runnin to stand still (u2), not on list????WHAT!???? Rabbi,, c'mon, some songs are missed but..............

By fm @ Friday, September 05, 2008 9:37 AM
Glad their playing several Pete Townshend tunes, like Rough Boys, Secondhand Love, Crashing by Design, Face the Face, and Slit Skirts...you don't hear these anywhere else anymore.

By Cathy @ Friday, September 05, 2008 12:51 PM
I am listening to Siberian Khatru by Yes from the Close to the Edge album, why wasn't the title song played? Being a long time listener some of the songs I remember are not being played which is a tease.

By Kevin @ Friday, September 05, 2008 12:52 PM
Rush's "Show Don't Tell" should have been played after Peter Frampton's "Show Me The Way". KILLING ME!! Preston would not approve of this!

By Kevin @ Friday, September 05, 2008 1:55 PM
Actually, Rush's "Show Don't Tell" would have been BEFORE Frampton's "Show Me The Way", wouldn't it? Since "D" comes before "M" in the alphabet, right? My only excuse is that I've been up since 5:30 this morning, never mind.

By Kathy @ Friday, September 05, 2008 4:01 PM
Where's the Jackson Browne

By Tom @ Friday, September 05, 2008 5:17 PM
What happened to the Moody Blues? Legend of a Mind? And how about Ten Years After with "I'd Love to Change the World"?
Also, is Venus and Mars going to be played by Wings, and what about Victoria by the Kinks?

By Kathy @ Friday, September 05, 2008 10:28 PM
I am loving the A-Z. I had one of the best days ever today. Had the day off from work, so I just drifted on my floutie all day in my pool listening to the A-Z. You Rock! Not Enough RUSH! Looking forward to W(Working Man) X(XANADU!) Y(YYZ) Thanx MMR!!!!

By Justin @ Friday, September 05, 2008 10:45 PM
How could you play "Can't Get This Stuff No More" from Van Halen but not "Me Wise Magic" come on they are both from the '96 Roth reunion but "Me Wise Magic" is the more well known song.

By Mark @ Saturday, September 06, 2008 3:07 AM
When you guys get to the W catagory can you play (What I Want) from (Daughtry w/Slash) and (Watcher Of The Skies) from (Genesis?) Thank you MMR Rocks!

I haven't heard any My Chemical Romance. Then I checked, and you haven't played any. Thanks anyway.

By shane @ Saturday, September 06, 2008 11:27 PM
on the list of songs played from a-z they stopped midway through the s's. will they post the rest of the songs played from letters r to z?

By Tom @ Sunday, September 07, 2008 8:09 AM
I enjoy when MMR does the A-Z, but you have seemed to forget something. In this community of Rock there are many groups and always, always over looked by this station is metal. P&S use metal during thier show and none of those songs were played?! When u start scrolling through you can the lists you can see who contributed and who was left out, like Jackie Bam Bam. I mean come on Pearl Jam cover Buba O from the Who. Why not Fear Factory covering Cars, (hears a hint Gary Numan actualls palys with them on that)! I love this station but you have seem to lost the love for the ones that got you through the 80s, the metal heads. If you replaced 1/10 of the Pearl Jam that I am subjected to over the 40-60 hrs a week I listen with metal, I would be in heaven. By the way what happened to the Iron Maiden movement that Dee Snyder started? There are more albums that cover Maiden then Pearl Jam ever made! Food for thought MMR, the other guys seemed to have figured this out. I am curious if you post this so, here goes nothing!

By Bill L @ Sunday, September 07, 2008 3:24 PM
I would like to see 'Far Post' by Robert Plant in the A-Z I didnt here it last year but was hoping to see it this year, Theres always next year. Thanks, Still Loved it!!! Bill

By Ed @ Sunday, September 07, 2008 6:32 PM
What happened to "Head East" and their live version of 'Since You've Been Gone'? Or even the studio version? Just noticed that other Head East songs were not included..... Oops!

By Tom @ Sunday, September 07, 2008 6:51 PM
hey! shane is right! they arent posting any more of the songs!!!

come on guys!! dont do this to us!!! please put up the rest of the songs- youre at the very end of the 'w's now!

By Sally @ Monday, September 08, 2008 7:36 AM
this is the format that should ALWAYS be played. there is a ton of excellent music out there that is never played. Rock on!

By Sean @ Monday, September 08, 2008 9:38 AM
I noticed you played Muse's "Starlight". Why don't you play these guys more? Although "Starlight" is their most radio friendly song because it is so pop-y, a lot of their other stuff really rocks and is really good. More Muse!!!

By Sally @ Monday, September 08, 2008 2:16 PM
this is the format that should ALWAYS be played. there is a ton of excellent music out there that is never played. Rock on!

By Aaron Klinger @ Monday, September 08, 2008 11:02 PM
I absolutely LOVE the A-Z and look forward to it every year, but was disappointed by 2 songs that were missed on the last day. Filter's "Welcome to the Fold" is an awesome song, and Stone Sour's "Zzyzx Road" would've been a great way to end the list. (MMR is the only place I've ever heard it, so they have it.) Otherwise great work as always guys!

By Ray @ Monday, September 08, 2008 11:15 PM
more NIN!!!

By Nikki @ Tuesday, September 09, 2008 12:34 PM
This is the way ROCK radio should be played!! Everything that ROCKS....Played together! I wish the normal everyday radio play was more like this.

By joe s @ Wednesday, September 10, 2008 8:22 AM
better than last time. remember the fist a-z in the 90s? it took over 2 1/2 weeks non stop and no songs were missed from the 60s on. please!!!!!! next time play everything!!!!!! or have the xext a-z by vote. even 1 vote gets the song played.

By Nat2D2 @ Tuesday, September 16, 2008 7:36 PM
I just went thru a lot of the list. It's truly fantastic! So much music in 40 yrs....let's do it again!! I remember hearing Johnny Cash's version of 'Hurt,' that was really moving. So much great music, thanks MMR!

By jamie @ Wednesday, September 17, 2008 11:35 PM
Biggest and best surprise: "Last Goodbye" by Jeff Buckley
One of the most-heartbreaking songs ever written by the voice in rock since Freddie Mercury.
